MV3i/MV3i MC is Canon's first digital camcorder to be equipped with a MultiMedia Card (MMC) slot providing cable-free PC connectivity for fast transfer of still images using a PC card adapter and card reader. 

For those who demand the ability to shoot fast-moving subjects as well as a high level of image and colour resolution, the MV3i/MV3i MC features the improved 800,000-pixel RGB progressive scan CCD, Canon's own image stabilizer, and an optical 10x zoom lens, giving a digitally-enhanced zoom range of 40x. The progressive scan CCD image sensors also let you operate the camcorders as digital still cameras with superlative results.

Progressive Scan CCD 
The MV3i/MV3i MC incorporates a Progressive Scan CCD image sensor for totally enhanced performance and image quality, impeccable clarity of fast-moving subjects, and better quality video prints, as well as exceptional low-light performance. 

RGB Primary Colour Filter 
The Progressive Scan CCD integrates an RGB Primary Colour Filter giving professional camcorder performance with more accurate colour reproduction of skin tones and scenes with a dominant colour such as sunsets or ski slopes. 

High Quality Low-Light Performance

You can copy still images from a videocassette to a MultiMediaCard and vice versa. And you can produce amazing video effects using one of the MultiMediaCard's Card Mix Effects - such as a picture frame or crashing waves combined with the real-time recording image. 

3 Shooting Modes 
The MV3i/MV3i MC offers three shooting modes to suit your individual needs. 

In Normal Movie Mode, you can capture smooth, full-motion video for playback on your TV. 

In Digital Photo Mode, it functions as a digital still camera to give you two cameras in one. Just press the photo button to capture more than 700 still pictures on a single videocassette, or combine video and still pictures together with the added benefit of audio. 

In Digital Motor DriveTM (Progressive Scan Mode) you can capture sequences of high-resolution pictures packed with excitement. Faster than a 35mm camera's motor-drive, the MV3i/MV3i MC Digital Motor Drive records an incredible 30 full-frame images per second, continuously, so you can capture your favourite sports stars in action. 

PCM Digital Sound 
The MV3i/MV3i MC offers two digital audio modes to enhance the playback experience. The 16-bit mode produces CD-equivalent, two-channel sound quality, while the 12-bit mode records on two of four channels, leaving two channels free for later dubbing of extra sound effects. 

Flexible LCD View Screen and Colour Viewfinder 
The large 2.5" full-colour view screen gives you the perfect shot from any angle, and then flips away for maximum portability. The eyecup viewfinder is the perfect answer for bright-light conditions. 

Program Auto Exposure 
This program ensures superlative video results even in challenging shooting conditions. Choose from Easy Recording, Auto, Sports, Portrait, Spotlight, Sand & Snow and Low Light. 

Audio Dubbing 
Using the 12-bit mode to overdub with stereo sound from a microphone or LINE (AV mini-jack). 

Digital Effects 
For that professional director's look, use digital faders, effects and multi-image screen. You can select Fade Trigger, Vertical Wipe, Horizontal Wipe, or Mosaic fades. You can also enhance your images with digital effects including Art, Black & White, Sepia or Mosaic. The multi-image screen may also divide your display screen into four, nine or sixteen pictures, with four speeds at which to capture images. 

Lithium Ion Power 
The non-memory Li-ion battery packs can be recharged at any time, for peak shooting performance and so that you are never out of power. 

Manual Controls 
Although fully automatic, the MV3i/MV3i MC also offers manual control of focus, exposure, white balance, and shutter speed. 

IEEE 1394 DV Terminal 
The MV3i/MV3i MC comes equipped with a DV In/Out terminal conforming to IEEE1394. This port provides digital connectivity for high-speed transfer of video, stills and audio from the MV3i/MV3i MC to a DV-compatible computer or another Canon DV camcorder. Once you have transferred images to your computer, you can manipulate them in any way you prefer. 

DV Format
