Flagship camcorder of the new MV400i series, the MV450i incorporates the latest extended-recording technology, radically increasing recording time by 3 times per cassette and making sure you don't run out of film just when you need to shoot. 

The easy-to-use MV400i series (MV450i, MV430i, and MV400i) also brings you digital line-in functionality so you can save valuable video footage of those all-important moments by copying 8mm/VHS tapes onto new long-lasting PAL-system DV tapes, as well as upload edited footage or graphics from your PC.  

Other great Canon features include the compact 10x optical zoom lens (200x Digital Zoom), unique Image Stabilizer, Progressive Photo System and Programmed Auto Exposure for crystal-clear digital picture quality. A MultiMediaCard slot also enables you to store and retrieve still images, now fully protectable by the new SD (Secure Digital) Memory Card.

Compact and Stylish Quality 
The MV400i series comes in a handy size made possible by the compact signal-processing LSI and smaller mechanical chassis. Adding to its attractiveness are a translucent LCD viewer and customizable colour-illuminated control buttons in 3 choices of colours. 

Excellent Digital Picture Quality and Extended Shooting Time 
Superb digital picture quality is guaranteed by Canon's famous high-performance 10x optical/ 200x digital zoom lens with Image Stabilizer (MV450i only), completely eliminating distortion and camera shake. Enhanced picture quality from the Progressive Photo Mode (MV450i and MV430i only) is especially evident from still digital pictures. With extended recording, the 3x ELP recording mode gives four hours recording on one 80-minute tape and a possible extended shooting time of up to 9hr 30min (MV450i). 

Compatible with SD Card and MMC 
The MV450i and MV430i now also feature enhanced PC-compatibility using the supplied SD (Secure Digital) card and MMC (MultiMediaCard). Next-generation storage media SD memory cards incorporate advanced copyright protection for digital content, high-speed access performance, and expanded recording capacity. Together the SD card and MMC enable advanced manipulation and storage of digital images where, for example, images recorded on a memory card can be combined with images being recorded by the camera on a DV tape. 

Full-Featured Specifications 
Among its state-of-the-art features, the MV400i series is equipped with a DV Terminal (IEEE1394) allowing high-quality dubbing, with editing and processing of images by connecting the camera to a PC. Analog Line-in enables valuable images previously recorded on 8mm/VHS tape to be transferred onto long-lasting DV tape. The Audio Dubbing and A/V Insert feature then lets you add new sound to original sound, or replaces original sound and images on a pre-recorded tape. 

When shooting, Canon's Program Auto Exposure (AE) lets the user select the shooting mode to suit the scene (with Auto, Sports, Portrait, Spotlight, Sand & Snow, and Low-Light modes) and then lets the camera take care of the photography. During shooting or playback, the Digital Effects feature adds special effects to images, including faders and colour effects.
