Using state-of-the-art technology, the Canon XM1 digital video camcorder features fluorite and aspherical lens elements, sharp contrast, 3CCD digital image capture, 20x optical zoom lens (100x digital zoom) and optical image stabilization system to achieve broadcast quality pictures. The camcorder is also equipped a range of manual features and a series of pre-programmed setting and filming effects for creative shooting. And with its robust design, easily accessible controls and two-way grip, the XM1 can shoot extreme angles. Fluorite Lens 
With the most advanced fluorite lens technology, the XM1 provides unrivalled sharpness and resolution to produce outstanding picture quality. The lens also eliminates most colour aberrations even at the highest magnifications. 

Optical Image Stabilization 
To ensure super steady images, the XM1 has a stabilizing system to combat the effect of natural camera shake. 

Direct Accurate Stereo Microphone 
Canon has developed a new microphone to enhance the superior quality stereo sound while reducing the background noise. 

ND Filter 
The ND filter reduces image blur in intensely bright shooting conditions by minimising the amount of light allowed to reach the CCD. 

CCD Pixel Technology 
Achieving high quality colour recordings, the 3 CCD system with Pixel Shift reproduces images in vibrant and sharp colours. With each CCD sensor having 320,000 pixels and dedicated to a primary colour, red, green or blue, the natural colour reproduction is enhances with low colour noise. 

Viewfinder 
The XM1 features an 180,000 pixel colour viewfinder. A special function in the camcorder, the "zebra" feature is a pattern of diagonal stripes that appears in the viewfinder to highlight areas of overexposure. 

Program A/E 
Conveniently located near the viewfinder, the practical command dial has seven pre-programmed shooting modes to select from, including Shutter Priority, Iris Priority, Sand & Snow and Spotlight. 

2.5 Inch Colour LCD Screen 
A fully rotational 2.5-inch LCD screen with its high-resolution images 
offers flexibility and convenience in viewing the pictures.  The LCD screen can also be used to playback your recordings when a TV monitor is not available. 

IEEE1394 DV in - DV out Terminal 
Meeting the industry standard IEEE1394 for a digital interface to connect to other digital devices, the XM1 is equipped with both a DV in and a DV out terminal.
